Parents: Get Rid Of Your Gut Without Motivation
Attention Parents Who Wanna Look GREAT: Parents, I want to ask you—what’s the most common advice that you get from people or from the internet when you want to lose weight and take care of your health? Be mindful of what you eat— Correct. Get active with the right exercises— Correct. Depend on willpower and motivation— WRONG. Sadly, most people rely on willpower and motivation to keep them going throughout this journey. As you may already know, research shows that willpower and motivation are limited resources. This means that as you get along with your day and as your workweek gets along, they deplete. And this is especially true for parents. ? For parents who don’t have enough time to commit to the first two, they find themselves getting sucked into the last and only available choice. ? You might have also tried so many things to get better in shape but nothing seems to work for you. This caused you to lose that motivation when you first started. You even get sceptical whenever you see a new promise. ? You might have started workout programs that would’ve actually give you long-term results but because of your busy lifestyle, you haven’t been able to stick to them, you haven’t seen any result quickly enough and therefore you’ve stopped. ? You can’t go the gym because even if you could, you become self-conscious, worrying if you will be able to do more than walk on the treadmill for hours—which you don’t have time to do anyway. ? After years of trying different workout videos, shakes, detox teas, and other celebrity magic pill endorsements without seeing any results, you’ve reached a point where working out and dieting only bring exhaustion to your already tired body. ?You feel like you’re a failure every time you can’t keep up with your workout session and every time you slip off from your diet and every time you binge-eat all your favourite treats at night. ?Because of these, you now associate physical and emotional pains to exercising and healthy eating restrictions. So you think: “Why even bother when nothing SEEMS to work?” “Might as well YOLO and eat all the food that I want plus I can have more time with my kids.” ? As a parent, you are already overwhelmed with the demands of parenthood and the responsibility of being able to provide for your family. And sometimes, your efforts to make everyone a priority over yourself come unappreciated and may even come off as selfish. So naturally, you find it difficult to maintain doing something nourishing for yourself, surrendering to the easy option of lying on the couch after a long day at work, eating all the sweets and nice food that you deserve after all the work you’ve done—for the sake of your family. You see, all these situations are products of our reliance on willpower and motivation. Once they deplete, you lose your ability to eat mindfully and to do the correct exercises. Once this happens, the RATIONALISER and the PROCRASTINATOR in you take over. ➡️The rationaliser reasons that you deserve some rest. ➡️The procrastinator instils that you still have tomorrow to get things done. But then tomorrow turns to weeks, then to months, then to years. But I know, as a parent myself, that this is not your fault. Society and social media taught us to depend on willpower and motivation when it comes to taking care of your health. Because as a parent, it is usually other things like work and making others happy, that are more of our priority. But the sad truth is, society does not teach you how to make your discipline stronger. It is not your fault. You’ve not been thought how to do this at all anyway. From young, you were taught the opposite—eat more, eat breakfast like a king, finish your food, don’t waste food – help others finish their food. While we know that the people who taught us have their best intentions for us, we now need to know that those teachings and habits that they have made us do all these years are making us UNHEALTHY. And this affects our relationships with our kids and family. ➡️ As we get weaker ➡️ As we keep gaining weight ➡️ As our confidence lowers ➡️ As our health is deteriorating Our family relationships start to drift apart. And what happens in 5 or 10 years? ➡️ You will even gain more weight ➡️ You will have less and less energy ➡️ You will feel that everything you do requires so much effort ➡️ You will get higher risks of developing cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and other obesity-related diseases ➡️ And the very things that you do not want to happen: you won’t be able to see your kids off to college, watch them get married, watch them achieve all their dreams in life, seeing the world together with them, and you may not even be able to see your grandchildren. I know you do not want all of these to happen. As a parent, I know you have sacrificed so much to be everything where you are right now. You deserve only the best: ✅ A healthy and fit body; ✅ High energy and confidence that will allow you to thrive both at work and at home; ✅ The ability to control what and how you eat and to do the correct exercises that will sustain your fit body for the long-term. ✅ A fit and healthy body that will allow you to become the best parent for your family and kids and not to be a burden to them in the next 5 or 10 years. And you won’t be able to achieve all of these if you continue to rely on willpower alone. So I need you to do something.
