Able to Eat Less Now


A client of mine once messaged me that she does not need to eat so often. And mind you, she’s a self-confessed foodie. I could tell – pictures of food up always on Instagram, which is fine if most were on the healthy side. But eating out always, tubs of ice cream almost every day, fast food goodness – all to relieve her stresses and pains of being the mother that everyone expects her to be, because she has to and because it is supposedly the right thing to do.

Little by little, these insta-foods are slowly taking up space not on her iPhone storage memory, but on her stomach. Just months later, boom! 10 kg up. Appearance is one thing. But then she realized that the extra weight is dragging everything else in her life.

She’s easily tired, she’s having a hard time keeping up with her kids’ energy, she wondered if her husband still finds her attractive, she was starting to worry about her health, her career, and her future.

Quick fixes and diets did little to none for her. There’s got to be something more to magic diet pills and doing hours of cardio work she knows she would not be able to commit in the long run.

An acquaintance who’s a client of mine led her to me as her coach. That acquaintance told her she lost about 7kg in just 2 weeks without eating a lot.

This is where reality, not magic, kicked. She was able to shift her mindset and learned that not only losing fat and looking good are important but that also because she needs to do take care of her body for her loved ones.

It wasn’t an easy feat. Especially as a foodie and as a mother who feels obligated to finish her kids’ meals.

There were bumps and setbacks at the start but once she was able to stick to the healthy routines and habits under my program, with me constantly nudging on her (in a friendly manner by the way;)), she finally started to see and reap the benefits of not EATING all the time.

She now understands the hidden pains behind the pleasures of constantly looking and eating mostly unhealthy food.

She now appreciates the pleasures of eating less.

She’s now more confident.

She’s now more disciplined.

She’s now able to know what are the right foods to eat.

At the same time, she knows how to not deprive herself on the food she truly enjoys.

She’s still a foodie, only a little more responsible now – and the changes actually turned her to being an “inspiration” or what you may call an “influencer”.

She now knows how to say “NO” to her kids, her hubby, and especially to herself when the temptation of FOOD presents itself at a time when she ought to say no.

The best thing is: the people she loves understood. They understand why she needed to do this.

Because from the start, she made it clear what she wants. She has everyone’s support at the frontline and me behind-the-scenes.

I couldn’t be prouder of her for overcoming all those hurdles before ultimately losing all that extra 10kg in just 2 months.
